What is "As Removed"?
As removed items have been removed from an aircraft and are believed to be in full working condition but we have not tested it. You will receive a part with an "as removed" green tag. As removed items do not have carry a warranty but are guaranteed to be working and may be returned for credit / refund within 10 days from date of invoice.
What is "Serviceable"?
Virtually everything we sell is in "Serviceable" condition. This is an FAA term that means that the radios have been repaired as needed, tested according to the manufacturer's procedure, and meet the manufacturer's performance specifications. These radios are legally approved for installation and use and will come with an FAA yellow-tag and a 90-day NexAir warranty.
What is the difference between a Yellow Tag and an 8130-3 Serviceable tag?
Both tags mean the same thing (see "Serviceable" above). The difference is the geographical area where the tag is accepted. The Yellow Tag is accepted in North America, while the 8130-3 tag is accepted worldwide. We generally issue 8130-3 tags for certain radios because we update software and check/replace batteries and it will come with a 90-day NexAir warranty. Both Yellow Tag and an 8130 Serviceable Tag will have a 90-day NexAir warranty from date of the invoice.
What is “New Surplus”?
New surplus parts can vary and there isn’t a definitive guideline. Typically they're the least costly condition but again, this condition isn't a regulatory definition. NS is great for obsolete items and is a great way to service aging aircraft. All of our NS parts are new and has no operating time or cycles. New Surplus items sometimes comes with a certificate of certification and comes with a 90-day NexAir warranty.
